[ale] Accessing Brother scanner from Linux

I want to get the scanner capability of a Brother printer/scanner/Fax device to work with one of my
older Linux systems.

Brother model MFC-7360N.  (MFC means Multi Function Center) Has USB jack

Linux systems (anyone will do):

CentOS release 6.10 (Final)

Slackware 14.2
