[ale] Mouse semi-failing

I start with the basics: blow out the device. Beyond that, I plug it into a
different machine to validate if it's mouse hardware or system software.
Then I test it in a different USB port on the original system

Then I throw it away and buy another $15 crappy special from microcenter
and get 5 years out of it.
