[ale] [OT] Cloudatcost bait and switch?

I got notified last week that unless I pay an annual maintenance fee within
24 hours, my "lifetime" server at cloudatcost will be canceled. At that
point, however, my server had already been deleted when I logged into my
dashboard.

In the past they repeatedly shut my server down due to what they deemed to
be inactivity (I hardly used it).

Anyone else seen this? Reddit seems to have a lot about it. Unbelievable.

I have queried it with them and opened a ticket... no response from
cloudatcost, just keep telling me to pay with a standard email response to
every query I make.
