That's a cool article. I couldn't access the web database they
mentioned. Leo Laporte and Steve Gibson have talked about this on occasion
on the Security Now podcast. Type this into google and you'll get a few
interesting links:

geolocation site:grc.com

If you're using google with scripting off, as I do, the page automation may
not work. Go to the last page of the results and click the link that says
something like "show the results that were omitted". You get more answers
that way.

Geolocation can be a privacy concerrn. But, privacy is dead or almost
dead. Website owners can track your electronic footprints whether you want
them to or not, even across websites, without java, flash, javascript, or
cookies with about 86% accuracy. If those things are turned on, even
without cookies, it's 98%.

Check out www.grc.com/securitynow/ - Security Now podcast - episode 264 -
Side-Channel privacy leakage. These episodes are also available on
www.twit.tv . Pretty scary.

(PS - If you email me and don't get a quick response, you might want to
call on the phone. I get about 300 emails per day from alternate energy
mailing lists and such. I don't always see new messages very quickly.)
