You would be looking for a line like:
auth sufficient pam_krb5.so
All of the other suggestions are more likely, and unless somebody else is
administering your computer (in which case you probably don't want to touch
your PAM settings), you would know if you were using Kerberos because it
would have taken some setup (and a Kerberos server). If you can log in to
the computer with the network cable unplugged, this isn't the problem.
It was a long shot I threw out there in case you were using Kerberos for
single sign-on and had already troubleshot the easier stuff.
