I use sshfs nearly every day.  Very nice to be able to 'cd hostname' and
poke around.

I also use fuse-zip to mount a few things:

It allows you to mount zip files read/write.  I do not have any idea how
safe the writes are, I use it almost exclusively for reads.

I have a large collection of (mostly) highly compressible text files.  I
wanted them on my laptop and I wanted trackerd to index them for
searching.  At the time, disk was a bit tight.  This was the best
compressed filesystem option I could find.

When am I going to get zfs outside of fuse? :)
