[ale] OT - Blade Runner Showing in Atlanta

I'm a big fan of the movie. It just looks great, and the soundtrack by Vangelis really adds to the overall atmosphere of the movie. Whenever I watch it, I'm just impressed with how good the effects were, especially for late 70's technology (sure, you can see the cables attached to the spinner in the one scene, but overall it looks good). I'm looking forward to getting the Final Cut on DVD. Hopefully it's a better transfer than The Director's Cut.

"Do Android's Dream of Electric Sheep" is a pretty good read, and even though Bladerunner is only very loosely based on it, it does provide interesting background information on things that are only hinted at in the movie (e.g. the airship advertising the "off-world colonies", Deckard asking if the owl was real, Sebastian having an entire apartment building to himself, etc, etc). Bah, now I'm babbling.
