[ale] automounted externals don't show up in 'df'

The automounter for NFS mounts at least is designed NOT to have the
network shares always mounted but only mounted at need. Doing the df of
the specific mount (or any command on the mount) would make it
automatically mount as noted below.

Are you sure its actually mounted at the time you issue the command?
Try 'df -h /path/to/mount/point/'
