[ale] Installng linux on Compaq

Zeb,

Did this on on my old 5888.  Bios saw the new slave drive and install of 
Suse went flawlessly. 
The only hitch is if Window gets corrupted and you have to go back to 
the Compaq rescue disks (not the partition).
 You have to unplug the second hard drive and any other added hardware.  
The disks only work is the hardware configuration is
exactly the same as it shipped.  Real, real bummer.  Obviously, I've 
been there.
They may have inproved that; the 5888 was an ealy 2000 machine.
