[ale] Debian 3.0 as a server platform?

Guys,

As I mentioned, I'm considering using a VPS to host a number of accounts I
have. The operating system options are RH9, Fedora Core 1, Fedora Core 2,
Debian 3.0, or CentOS.

I'm very familiar with the Red Hat way of doing things, but have switched
in the last 6 months to Debian-based (Ubuntu, UserLinux) systems on the
desktop and have become very enamored with apt (yes, RH has apt4rpm, but
package selection is often limited).

So, long story short, I'm considering going with Debian 3.0 as my server
platform. However, I know Debian is notorious for slow adoption of
technology and is typically running many versions behind RH for most
software.

Do any of you have thoughts along these lines? Would you recommend
Debian? Any reason you would recommend NOT using Debian?

Thanks, as always!

John
