All,
My company, Internet Commerce Corp., wants to hire a technical support
person. Specifically, we deal with EDI (Electronic Data Interchange)
with a software product (winders), a web based solution, and a service
bureau. The tech support person will handle a range of customers from
those who can barely spell EDI, up to and including the Trading Partner
EDI specialists who *think* in three letter acronyms. In short, the
whole gamut.
We're looking for someone who can both handle our (sometimes irate)
customers on the phone, and can diagnose the problems that occur (e.g.
"there IS no such date as '11/34/2004', okay?'). Oh, sorry, they're not
"problems" anymore; they're "issues" or even "opportunities".
I'm currently able to work in the Linux environment almost exclusively.
You may not have that luxury, due to the requirement to connect to the
customer's PC via "pcAnywhere", among others.
The usual expected benefits are in force: health insurance, 401K,
direct deposit, Paid Time Off, etc.
If interested, please reply to my work email: danny.cox at ecweb.com.
Yes, I guess that makes me a gatekeeper. Oh, joy!
Some recent history. I used to work at ECS (Electronic Commerce
Systems). We (ECS and ICC) both had service bureaus, one in Bremen, and
one in Carrollton (ICC). We apparently did the service bureau thing
much better, so they bought us. ICC is a public company, and was based
in Manhattan. We're currently in the middle of moving the HQ to
Norcross, to be completed in the Jan-Feb time frame. It's an exciting
time right now, and all the signs point toward that trend continuing.
I'll shut up, now. Thanks for your time and bandwidth!
