[ale] Video Editing Software?

This weekend I capured a chunk of video from my camcorder. Nice one-run
shot. The only problem is I have to cut off the first 26Seconds of a
previous birthday party. I've tried doing the editing in Windows with
Movie Star5 which usually does a good job but the final rendered video
can't keep the audio and video sync'd.
Anyone know a good program I can use under linux for cutting out bits of
a movie in Linux? Preferably something designed for an idiot as I
rarely do any video editing and just need something fast and dirty that
will trim a few seconds off here and there but still produce DVD quality
mpeg?
