[ale] Cheap laptop battery replacement

I have a Dell Latitude CPt 333MHz laptop.  It is a great machine and has 
worked well.  The battery is long dead.  I'd like to replace it but it 
requires the special Dell shaped battery.  I haven't cut open the old 
battery case as I was hoping to open it without damage.  Haven't figured 
out how to do that.  Does anyone know of how I could either:

1.  Open up the battery and learn how to splice into the connections to 
build a larger better battery.

2. Or find a cheap battery replacement for less than $100.
