[ale] quick, simple backup

I saw something on TechTV about CD media not lasting very long.  They
tested media that failed after 6 months.  Maybe good quality media can
be purchased at the store that will be of archive quality.  Your backup
system may not require the cds to last 6 months.  Archive system will.
