Yes, XFS is well designed to terabytes of data. But on a 64bit machine
running IRIX. The Linux port of XFS is very good. But it is not a
complete as the IRIX version. 

The docs on the linux port of XFS are pretty thorough and can detail
whether it is a viable option.
