I've been around Atlanta a long time and I've been looking for a job a long
time, so I'm probably uniquely qualified to answer. ;-) There are clusters of
tech companies in these areas: Norcross/Technology Park, Alpharetta,
Perimeter, Intown/Midtown, Marietta and points to the Northwest. The number
of businesses in Midtown is considerable, so that makes a move too far from
the center a bad bet. If I were thinking of an ideal location convenient to
all possible tech jobs in Atlanta, it would be off of 400 just north of
Abernathy Road. All of this says nothing about housing costs, school systems
and taxes.
