[ale] missed/bounced messages

I got a similar note referencing two messages, but since I'm still getting
ALE postings, I suppose it didn't cut me off (yet). Naturally my ISP's
mail server may have been DOA for a while.

I don't recall the details of the message, but I kept a copy if it
matters.
