[ale] Burning Redhat 7.3 iso's

Can you mount other cdroms in this way?

Is the media you're using rated at 4x or better?  Try burning at speed=1 
or leave the speed option out and permit cdrecord to choose the speed.

post the output of 'cdrecord --scanbus'

Not yet, the above attempt looks like it should have worked.  I use the 
same, without the -eject, but I doubt that makes any difference.

I didn't have to buy my radio from a specific company to listen
to FM, why doesn't that apply to the Internet (anymore...)?
