If you wanna go hardcore, you can do it with dd from /dev/dsp I think (back
in the old days).

On my redhat 7.3 laptop, there's a nifty little command-line util called
"record". :)

Check your bitrate, etc to make sure there isn't some differences between
how you're recording and how you're playing back...

Does it sound slowed-down, but the correct frequency, or is it simply slower
(and lower) like spinning a record too slow (Now THAT's old-school).
