I use it now to access my wife's windows box upstairs when she's having

I also used it for work a while back to access various servers across a 
dial up vpn.  Talk about watching paint dry, but it worked.

I didn't have to buy my radio from a specific company to listen
to FM, why doesn't that apply to the Internet (anymore...)?
