Let's see.  3.14 * 3.5 = 10.99 inches of travel per rotation
10.99 * 72000 = 791280 inches per minute
There are 5280 * 12 = 63360 inches per mile, that give us
791280 / 63360 = 12.48 miles per minute
12.48 * 60 = 749 miles per hour.  

What's the speed of sound?  That's thing is dangerously close to mach
1.
