[ale] Redhat security updates available on RHN only ?

Interesting point: Here at Tech, the different departments choose a
single box to connect to RHN, and download all updates automagically
(cron jobs, probably). Then the other machines connect to that box to
download and apply the updates. Is that not what you have in mind?

Also, don't all the RedHat updates appear in the mirror sites in the
redhat/updates/ directory? It does on the ftp://ftp-linux.cc.gatech.edu
mirror.

Is the problem that the RHN up2date agent cannot be redirected to a
different server? I'll have to check with the other CSRs to see how
they do the auto-updating from a single machine, and let you know back.
They may have a trick or two I don't know about.

I wonder if it would be possible to redirect (via tables/chains) the
connectiosn to the redhat servers to a local server? HMMM

Joe,

I don't expect Redhat to download files to my machine at all.
