[ale] Problems with Sony laptop ethernet under Linux

It's entirely possible that the driver included with your kernel version is 
buggy or out of date. Check out this site for comprehensive information on 
NIC drivers:

http://www.scyld.com/network/index.html

There may be a more recent driver for your NIC.
