Hi. I'm looking for a little help with what appears to be permission
problems.
My system:
Red Hat 7.0
Majordomo 1.94.5
Sendmail 8.11.0/8.9.3
I've added the following to the sendmail.cf file:
# override file safeties - setting this option compromises system security
# need to set this now for the sake of class files
O DontBlameSendmail=IncludeFileInGroupWritableDirPath,
O DontBlameSendmail=GroupWritableDirPathSafe
O DontBlameSendmail=GroupWritableIncludeFileSafe
I have the following permissions (777 - just to make sure) on the following
directories:
/usr/local/majordomo-1.94.5
/usr/local/majordomo-1.94.5/lists
/usr/local/majordomo-1.94.5/lists/usergroup
User majordomo.daemon owns the directories and files.
This is my majordomo part of my aliases file:
# Majordomo usergroup aliases
majordomo: "|/usr/local/majordomo-1.94.5/wrapper majordomo"
owner-majordomo: majordomo.daemon
majordomo-owner: majordomo.daemon
usergroup: :include:/usr/local/majordomo-1.94.5/lists/usergroup
owner-usergroup: hpitts
usergroup-request: "|/usr/local/majordomo-1.94.5/wrapper request-answer
usergroup"
usergroup-approval: hpitts
I get this when I try to send anything to the lists usergroup:
----- The following addresses had permanent fatal errors -----
:include:/usr/local/majordomo-1.94.5/lists/usergroup
(expanded from: <usergroup at eoncommunications.com>)
----- Transcript of session follows -----
550 5.2.4 :include:/usr/local/majordomo-1.94.5/lists/usergroup... Cannot
open /usr/local/majordomo-1.94.5/lists/usergroup: World writable directory
Message delivered to mailing list <usergroup at eoncommunications.com>
If I tighten up the permissions I get a Cannot access
/usr/local/majordomo-1.94.5/lists/usergroup Permission denied.....
So it is one of those "Damned if you do, damned if you dont......"
Thanks for any help that you could provide.
