Not only can you install reiserfs with RedHat 7.1, but you can download
from SGI the XFS supplemental boot cd image that is paired with RedHat 7.1
and install the XFS journalling system as well.

caveat: The kernel patch on SGI's download area will not cleanly patch
onto a kernel source 2.4.4 or higher.
