WHAT?!?! You mean the decisions to scuttle the best calculator line in
the world, the PaRisk chip, the HPUX development team, and everything
that isn't making big bucks _TODAY_ is grounds to drop Carly? What
visionary but Carly could possibly dismantle one of the most reputable
R&D companies solely to make a faster profit with fewer cash outlays for
potential products in the future. 10 years from now HP will be not much
more than a shell, a holding company. They will have been bought out by
an Asian manufacturing and R&D giant. Hmm. Hitachi.

Short-sighted business management wonb't make a good bottom line in 10
years. She has nearly destroyed 30 years of work. I was there on the
infamous 6k-day. People got laid off from areas that were in the black
with groups that were understaffed already and losing customers because
of the staffing problems.
