[ale] FTP problem.

I'm trying to get my linux box to allow for ftp's in.  I have a user
"mike" with a passwd entry trying to log in non-anonymous.  His name is
not in /etc/ftpusers.  Anyone know why he get's "530 user mike access
denied" even before he put's in his passwd.  Anyone know?
