My libraries are really screwed.  Here are _some_ of the errors
I get when compiling X programs:

paint.o(.text+0x1542): undefined reference to `XSetLineAttributes'
paint.o(.text+0x1722): undefined reference to `XTextWidth'
paint.o(.text+0x1794): undefined reference to `XSetForeground'
paint.o(.text+0x1848): undefined reference to `XSetForeground'
paint.o(.text+0x1b9d): undefined reference to `XTextWidth'
paint.o(.text+0x1bcc): undefined reference to `XSetForeground'
xinit.o(.text+0xf): undefined reference to `XLoadQueryFont'
xinit.o(.text+0x1a1): undefined reference to `XParseColor'
xinit.o(.text+0x2ba): undefined reference to `XAllocColorCells'
xinit.o(.text+0x2f7): undefined reference to `XFreeColors'
xinit.o(.text+0x35d): undefined reference to `XQueryColors'
xinit.o(.text+0x370): undefined reference to `XStoreColors'
xinit.o(.text+0x3b4): undefined reference to `XCreateColormap'
