I think a tech based ALUG, is a great idea, Make it open to Non-techies,
so anyone can join. I think we can get SGA funding if we charter through
Tech, (always a plus), Tie ourselves with the tech ACM, and the AUUG,
that way we can get more members. I like the PooBah Idea. Have
them elected every year, all the better
Tech is a perfect plave to meet because we have the room, it will be
free if we are charterd, and it is in a conveinent down town location.
I also like the idea of an alug.gatech.edu. And if there is enough
intrest dues will be low, income will be high (w/ help form SGA), we can
easily get a 486 class linux box, up. If the COC will not let us I know
of a place that will.
Has anyone looked into what we need to get chartered at Tech?
I see that as the biggest step.
I will be willing to help people out to get this off the ground, and I
take an office if it a last resort, as I cannot gaurentee much time.
Chris
