Yeah, I'm sympathetic to their cause but turned off by that site.

There is a real problem that needs addressing and it's frustrating when
arguments against Google's solutiondo not at least acknowledge the issue.

I recently paid $300 CAD for a Pixel 8 Pro "refurbished" via a seller on
BestBuy.ca
Damn, what a nice phone: its 12 GB RAM is itself almost worth the $300;
fantastic camera; all the sensors; and can run LineageOS.
Sure, it's over your $99 limit, but it should be known that buying a 2
generation old, used, top-of-line phone is a viable strategy for many
folks. (I used to buy Pixel "a" models new, but this has worked out
better for last 2 purchases.)
