[ale] Non-ATT wifi router connected to ATT gateway

Hey Pete,

I have AT&T fiber and have been very pleased with the service.  My very simple setup is…

[ AT&T device ] --/Passthrough/bridge mode on one interface/ -- [pfSense firewall] --- [UniFi switch] –  (UniFi Cloud Key / UniFi access points)

Once you get the AT&T device, plug your computer into it and configure one of the ports as a passthrough while the other router/firewall is connected.  I say while the other firewall/router is connected because the AT&T passthrough mode wants to assign the passthrough to the MAC of the other firewall/router.   Once you set it, you never have to worry about it again.

Hope this helps.

Subject: [ale] Non-ATT wifi router connected to ATT gateway

Hello all,

Current setup has a non-ATT wifi router serving 2.4 and 5 Ghz SSIDs, and ATT gateway serves the usual ATT wifi. This was set up when I bought the house, and equipment has changed at least once.

Anyone got a good how-to for setting this up from scratch? I'm getting the feeling that the equipment is about to get obsoleted soon and a previous tech said that it would cost to get an ATT staffer to set it up.
