ATT just replaced their gear in my house a few months ago. The new modem
accepts the fiber connection directly. We used to have a fiber to ethernet
converter. We also replaced an aging Netgear router with a new one. I
thought about doing a mesh network but decided it wasn't worth the expense
and added complication.
