[ale] Ubuntu Desktop versus Ubuntu Server?

You may know this, but just in case:
To switch the machine so it'll boot to the text console by default (but not bother uninstalling the graphic packages), you can put a new default.target link in the /etc/systemd/system/ directory.
# cd /etc/systemd/system
# ln -s /lib/systemd/system/multi-user.target default.target
later!
