[ale] How useful is Raspbian for Newbie Learning Linux?

Raspbian now renamed Raspberry Pi OS is essentially a custom Debian based distribution tailored for the Raspberry Pi.  The basic installation is much the same as Debian with additional packages for taking advantage of the Raspberry Pi hardware.
