[ale] Bounce notifications

Most folks use TXT in lieu of SPF to do things like domainkeys or other spf like workarounds.

I’ve run across very few sites that have an actual SPF RR though they often include “spf” in their TXT RRs.

Oh, there you go.

I believe I saw a blurb somewhere that gmail was going to start blocking anything without an SPF (or was it domain keys?) I dunno. Still important.

The other day someone mentioned an spf record. On doing a dig just now I don’t see either spf or txt records for ale.org<http://ale.org/>.

The reverse for mail.ale.org<http://mail.ale.org/> IP is OK though. (I checked that because some people block “generic” reverses for mail.)

All,

It seems the mailman instance for ALE is bouncing messages excessively (and filling my inbox with subscriber blocked notices - up to about 350 now).

Please be patient as this gets resolved.

Robert, please check the logs for any obvious issues over the past 24-48 hours. Also please post a blurb about the existence of this issue on the website. Doing so by cell phone screen and keyboard is not working for me.

I have seen past connectivity issues for the ALE server that were intermittent and network specific that appeared as router table failures (connect fail, connection to wrong system, nonexistent IP address, etc). Nothing like the scale I currently see.
