ok, I have an older DELL XPS desktop, from about 2011. It originally had
a 1TB drive in it. I added a 2nd drive to insstall linux on, multiple
linux OSes... it was dual-boot windows 7 & linux, worked fine.. THEN
finally I was getting HD errors on the original drive, so I replaced it
with a nice big Seagate ST3000DM001 . couldn't install windows, didn't
recognize the drive.. oh well.. I installed windows 10 preview in a VM,
added my programs, kept on truckin. I REALLY want to be able to
dual-boot this thing with windows 10, and I even have my MS windows 7
product key, so I am legal, I just CAN'T get this thing to install
windows into the drive!!! grub works, and I even have ubuntu on the
drive & it boots /dev/sda5 ubuntu just fine, but the windows 7 & 10 CDs
puke, can't find a drive to install to. Is there an issue with a 3TB
drive in this??
it is an AMD processor, 64 bit, not intell.. dell shows in delivered feb
2011..

advice?
