Just an FYI, Tmobile offers a free lte cell connection for each tablet that accompanies a regular cell number for no extra charge.
I got a Samsung Note 10 for her to use at College this feature.
Also, you don't have to buy the tablet from t-mobile. They accept any cell equipped tablet as long as you have a companion tmobile cell account to go with it.

Also worth noting:  you can't really use it outside of YOUR network.  It
only works with wireless (though you can get one with lte? built in).  I
never saw the point to have yet another wireless bill, so never got a
tablet with built in LTE or G3/4 or what ever.
