If you read carefully digi001 documentations it states that box contains :


...................................
Digi 001 PCI card, connects to I/O Box and provides 8 channels of Optical
I/O
Digi 001 I/O Box with connections for analog audio, S/PDIF, and MID
....................................


So you are right :)
