I do mostly home and small business on-call type work on the side so
I'll often get a call when I'm at the office and have to go to the
customer's location on my way home. As a result, I've learned to keep a
bag of goodies in my trunk so I don't have to go home before making
these last minute service calls. The bag contains the following items:

* USB drive dual boot w/ UBCD (www.ultimatebootcd.com) and BackTrack
* i-fixit toolkit
* assortment of usb cables (usb-serial, usb-microusb, male-female
extension, usb-ethernet, etc)
* Old-ish laptop with nothing I care about on it and extra battery
    * Charger for laptop and extra battery
* A few blank CD-r and DVD-r disks
* LED Headlamp
* Leatherman multi-tool

In addition, I usually have these things with me in my pockets or in my
regular laptop bag:
* Android phone with wifi tethering and extended battery pack
    * "WiGLE WiFi Wardriving" and and "RF Signal Tracker" Android apps
* Work and personal laptop (Dell XPS13 and 11" MacBook Air respectively)
* Chargers for both laptops
* Two micro USB chargers
* Paper notepad and a couple of pens

I'm sure there are things I'm forgetting but this covers most of it...
