[ale] help - question - can you put mint 13 on HP Win 8 PC

I just got a chap Gateway/Acer laptop and did just that. On Win 8, go to settings - advanced - general - start options( not very sure)and change the boot option. When restarting PC, you will be at the bios. Change from UEFI to legacy and put boot order to cd-rom or whatever the device you want to boot from.
