[ale] OT if you must use windows, upgrade to windows 7, not 8, within a year

I was going to say the same thing, Michael. You'll see me taking notes with iPad+keyboard at ALE meetings. I rarely use laptops because they're too klunky to carry around, although I like my friend's MacBook Air. I do often find myself wondering why the touchscreen doesn't work when I have to get on other people's laptops, now, though! Doh! ;-) 


I don't see using a touchscreen at the office, though. I can't actually reach my monitors from my normal seated position.

I have a keyboard for my iPad. I find it completely natural to mix 
touch screen and keyboard input. 

Of course, that is for a small screen that is very close to the keyboard.
