My favorite "why you need someone with a clue to do this" was when
the large bundle of cat 5 cable was ran through a fire damper in a fire
wall (physical, not network) which would have kept the damper from closing
in case of an actual fire. On the 16th floor of a 20 floor building,
The "Plant Engineer" was clueless until the fire marshall
gave them a choice: Clear that fire damper now, or I evacuate the
building.
A hacksaw works well on a 6" across bundle of Cat 5. It had all just been
installed by the local fly by night monkey with a ladder. (not me).
