Yes, 4200 was common with 2.5" drives.  My Compaq Presario (also HP 
built) of the same vintage has a 4200 rpm drive. Slower than blazes even 
booting Linux.  Now ask me about my netbook with a 7200 rpm drive 
fronted with SSD.  Blazes run in the opposite direction!
