[ale] GIMP on Mac

Ditto.  DMG packages are out there for both PPC and Intel -
OS v 10.5 to 10.7
Gimp v 2.6.7 max on PPC
Gimp v 2.8.2 is most current I found for Intel  (which I just
installed on my latest macbook pro 17" laptop addition,
which will likely last Mac purchase given Apple's accelerated
rate of corporapist consumer abuses and the way Mac OS-X
is  being increasingly "upgraded" toward unusable with
each release).
