[ale] net etiquette question for ALE message board

If the only purpose of a message is to say "Thanks", mainly as an
acknowledgement of receipt, then don't send it as it is implied.

However, if it's part of a problem-solving thread, and the purpose is
to not only express thanks for the help but also to convey that a
solution was reached, then send the "Thanks" along with "that solved
the problem" so others will know the solution.

Also, people are not computers and a mailing list is just people
talking.  It's barely worth discussing such things as it's not like
any person is going to timeout waiting for an ACK reply or going to
crash from an unexpected "thanks" packet.
