[ale] OT (slightly): How do you read the ale mailing list?

Oh they have the view, but it's very easy for them to screw it up. As
I mentioned earlier, it's just about worthless in Outlook. Since I
refuse to open Outlook, except for extreme circumstances, in fear of
what it might _decide on its own_ to do to my email, I forgot just how
it screws up threading. But I found a link! [1]. Basically, it threads
based on subject, not on the In-Reply-To header. Thunderbird does a
decent job, however, so that's what I use at work.

Gmail _mostly_ uses the In-Reply-To header for threading. But as soon
as someone changes the subject line Gmail sees it as a new thread.
Since I "mute" (love this feature) most of the threads that come in
through ALE, this bugs the hell out of me. A muted thread that morphs
into a new one becomes unmuted. This is what has me really considering
using Gmane's NNTP for ALE.
