[ale] OT (slightly): How do you read the ale mailing list?

In Outlook you can sort by subject and then select all the messages with
the same subject and delete them. Of course when people change the
subject this might not work but then again a changed subject is often
indication that a sub-thread has been spawned from the original.

Zimbra, Claws and Thunderbird handle threads fine.

Perhaps I don't understand the email clients that don't support
threading .. perhaps Mail or elm? All clients I've seen recently can at
least sort by subject.

Zimbra does threads and collapses them for easy management (if you like)
- there's a Zimbra thick client, but it is Java so startup is like ...
30 minutes on a 6 core proc with only 12GB of RAM.

The Zimbra web interface is really good and fast, so is the server. The
search facilities are like no other email interface that I've seen.
Fantastic.

Thunderbird does threads too making it easy to delete entire groups of
msgs. It can collapse entire threads into a single line, if you like.
That's handy if you filter ALE msgs into a dedicated folder. View
settings in thunderbird appear to be folder specific.

I use Claws on my Nokia N800. Threaded views work there too.

Are there popular, modern, GUI email clients that don't have a threaded
view?
