[ale] ubuntu upgrade issues

Upgraded from Lucid to Maverick 10.10 and all worked fine.  Did get an 
'invalid option' from grub, but all booted fine.

Upgrade from Maverick 10.10 to Natty 11.04 and upon reboot, gets as far 
as the grub prompt and that's it.

I don't have extensive experience with grub.

Typing boot at the grub menu returns: no kernel loaded.

Suggestions?
