[ale] OT: VM network speed 1/2 of host and other machines on the network

So,

I'm running virtualbox on my mac with Centos as a VM.  Speed tests from 
any machine on my network including the Mac run around 11.5, whereas the 
VM running in virtualbox is consistently 4-5.

Anyone?
