[ale] just finished configuring Eudora Open Source Edition

I just finished spending most of the week configuring Eudora Open Source
Edition on 2 Linux installations and 2 Windows installations, and
getting access to a huge archive of old messages that I have. I've had
years of experience with Eudora Classic on Windows. So far, I'm liking
Eudora OSE better than I like Evolution. I think it has a much richer
feature set. I have no experience with Thunderbird, so I cannot
compare. I am now using this product on all my pc's except one I rarely
use. On that one, I'll use Evolution if I have to get to email.

If anyone else is working with this product, and has any questions, I'll
be glad to try to help. Note that I don't have any IMAP experience however.

Eudora OSE (as an Open Source product) is at version 1.0, so there are a
few bugs, but I haven't found anything too major. It's available for
Linux, Windows, and Mac.

WARNING: Don't install Eudora OSE on a system with Thunderbird. They
share much of the same codebase and config files and will conflict with
each other.

Sincerely,

Ron

(PS - If you email me and don't get a quick response, you might want to
call on the phone. I get about 300 emails per day from alternate energy
mailing lists and such. I don't always see new messages very quickly.)
